CCS Preschool Program
By Miss Stephanie Evans

Thank you so much for your interest in the CCS preschool program!  Our goal is to provide a positive and nurturing Christian atmosphere for children.  The preschool classes provide developmental and age appropriate activities for ages 3-5 years old.

Our preschool program helps develop self-confidence, which allows the child to reach out to others in Christian love and kindness.  We hope to nurture an independent attitude to aid the student in becoming more self-reliant.  We try to developmentally enhance large and fine motor skills using appropriate learning tools.

This class strives to increase student’s skill levels in the following areas:

  • Social: adjusting to a daily routine, learning to and play with others
  • Self help: being responsible for their belongings, washing hands, use the bathroom independently and clean up toys
  • Fine motor: we use building blocks, stringing beads, using crayons, pencils, scissors and water colors
  • Cognitive: skills necessary to be successful in kindergarten – colors, shapes, numbers and phonics
  • Bible: we have Chapel everyday along with a Bible time in class and memory verses.  We stress learning in a Christian environment

Our 3 year old program’s areas of development are introduction to the alphabet, science, and number concepts.  There is an emphasis on fine motor skills and independence.  Our goal is to give them the skills they need to ease the transition into the preschool program.

Our 4 year old program’s areas of development are phonics, pre-reading, and number concepts.  The program introduces following directions, learning to sit and complete task.  They will learn to care for themselves and their possessions.  Student’s learn to share and work together, and resolve conflict in a Christian manner.  They will learn to wait in line with appropriate behavior.  They will also learn to dress themselves for outdoor play with little assistance from the teacher.

We hope to see your child in our program, and thank you for your interest!
