CCS Notes / Reminders

December 11th, 2019

“When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”  -Matthew 2:9–11

School will be dismissed at 12:00 on Friday, December 20, to begin the Christmas holiday. Please don’t be late picking up your children. School resumes January 6, 2020.

Christmas Program
Mark your calendar for next Tuesday, December 17 at 6:30. You won’t want to miss your child in the Christmas program. Children need to be here at 6:00 in the small auditorium. There has been a lot of preparation for this performance, and there is still more to do. If you would like to be a part of this performance and earn participation hours, we could use your help.

We need someone to:
 Run sound /music
 Help decorate the stage
 Assist children with their costumes
 Make star headbands for preschool

Please notify Ms. Whitney or the school office if you can help.

Santa Shop Dec. 18 & 19
For the rest of this week the students will be working to earn check marks for good behavior. When students finish their seatwork, know their bible verse, are not being too loud during
lunch, helping other students, and various other examples of being good students, they will earn points for Santa bucks . With those Santa bucks they will have the opportunity to shop for their family for Christmas. This is a fun and rewarding time for our students.

This program is provided by the PTO. The PTO is looking for volunteers to help setup the store and help the children shop. This is another way to earn participation hours! Contact the
school office or Emily Moore to volunteer.

Service Hours / Participation Opportunities
Remember that 5 Parent Participation Hours must be completed by January 22 to avoid an invoice for unfulfilled hours. The invoices will be sent out on January 29, and payment will be due by January 31.

There is still time and opportunities to get those hours completed:
 Christmas program / as listed above
 1 hour Study Hall / Contact Mr. D
 Correcting papers/ Contact teacher
 Help with Santa’s Shop / Contact PTO
 Preschool Help / Contact Ms. Kelly
 Recess Help / Contact office
 Help with morning line up/Contact office

Baby It’s Cold Outside!
Please make sure your children have their hats, coats, gloves and snow pants to keep warm outside. We always go out for recess unless it’s too wet or below 20 degrees.
